College Football Today: Predictions & Best Bets

One of the last games to kick off in college football today is the Big 12 clash between the Cincinnati Bearcats and Arizona Wildcats. Cincinnati is 4-0 entering this game, and the Bearcats are hoping to move into the Top 25 with a win over Arizona. However, most college football predictions will have the Wildcats emerging victorious as Arizona is a moderately sized favorite in this game against the college football odds.

College Football Games Today

The second-to-last game slated for CFB today will pit two recent Big 12 additions against each other. Cincinnati might be undefeated, but the Bearcats have not been super impressive in their four wins. They squeaked past Miami of Ohio 35-31 in a rivalry game two weeks ago, and the Bearcats could only best Kansas State 31-26 last week. This will be the first road game of Cincinnati’s college football 26 schedule.

As for Arizona, the Wildcats are sitting at 3-1. They were unable to beat Big 12 favorite BYU in Provo in their second game, but they knocked off all their non-conference opponents. That includes a comeback win on the road against former PAC 12 rival Washington State last weekend.

Who Plays Football Today?

Arizona will welcome Cincinnati to the desert in the Wildcats’ third home game of the season.

Top NCAAF Games on Today’s Schedule

This is one of the most underrated games on today’s college football schedule. Cincinnati and Arizona are both Top 40 teams per SP+, and both the Bearcats and Wildcats are receiving votes in both the AP Poll and Coaches Poll.

NCAAF Preview for Today’s Top Matchups

There are only three games between ranked opponents this week, so we are looking at some of the other top matchups when it comes to an NCAAF preview. 

Ranked College Football Matchups

The top game in college football today will pit the Iowa Hawkeyes against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Iowa City will be electric as the Hawkeyes attempt to knock off the Buckeyes to move to 5-0.

Another one of the best games in CFB today will feature the Mississippi State Bulldogs taking on the Alabama Crimson Tide. Kamario Taylor is on the way to becoming a superstar, and a big game against Alabama will make him a household name.

Conference Games to Watch

Big 12 Conference favorites BYU and Texas Tech will both be in action on Saturday. The Cougars will travel to Texas to face TCU, while the Red Raiders could end the Deion Sanders era in Colorado with a statement win.

College Football Lines Today

The initial college football lines released on Sunday afternoon had the Arizona Wildcats listed as 7.5-point favorites. There has been a little bit of action on the undefeated Cincinnati Bearcats to move the line to 7, but it is unlikely that we will see this line move much further.

Point Spreads and Moneylines

Arizona is a seven-point favorite over Cincinnati, and the Wildcats are -290 on the moneyline. The Bearcats are listed at +235 as an underdog on the moneyline.

College Football Over/Under Lines

Currently, the over/under in this game is listed at 55.5 points. 

College Football Predictions Today

This is going to be a very tough test for the Cincinnati Bearcats. Scott Satterfield’s teams lean heavily on the run, but we do not know if this run game will travel quite yet. Senior JC French IV has been solid since transferring into the program after three years at Georgia Southern, but Satterfield only asked him to take to the air against Miami of Ohio.

There are no similar worries regarding Arizona’s quarterback. Noah Fifita might be undersized, but he is one of the best playmakers at the position. Fifita has thrown for 1,131 yards and 11 touchdowns with just two interceptions through four games. That is why I will be taking the Wildcats to win and cover the number in my college football predictions. 

Predictions for Today’s Biggest Games

In other college football predictions, I think that Alabama will be able to take care of Mississippi State. The Crimson Tide were very impressive in a blowout win over South Carolina last week, and the Bulldogs aren’t very good on defense. Mississippi State ranks 48th in Defensive SP+.

Although Iowa has a special home field environment, I don’t believe the Hawkeyes will stand much of a chance against Ohio State. The Buckeyes are a team on a mission after they failed to hold onto a double-digit lead late against Texas, and this passing attack will move the ball with ease against the Hawkeyes.

Potential Upsets to Watch

Florida is riding high after a big win over Ole Miss. The Gators dominated the Rebels last week, and their ground game was fantastic. However, Missouri boasts one of the best defenses in the nation. The Tigers are allowing just 2.7 YPC, so they should be able to limit the Gators’ potent ground game.

There are some solid college football picks given the lines this week. That’s why I have several college football best bets. 

Best Bet of the Day

My best bet of the day is Arizona. The Wildcats are very undervalued since they have a worse record than the Bearcats. However, there’s no doubt that Arizona is a better team than Cincinnati, and the Wildcats have a sneaky good home field advantage. 

Best Value Betting Opportunities

The best value lies in Missouri at home against Florida. The Tigers likely would have been a short favorite in this game prior to last week’s results, and now everyone is overvaluing the Gators’ win over an Ole Miss team that was dealing with injuries in a letdown spot. Now, Florida is in the same spot, so I will happily take Missouri.

Additionally, Alabama should be more than a touchdown favorite against Mississippi State in NCAA Football odds. The Bulldogs weren’t that great against Missouri last week, and they needed another impressive game from their quarterback to win at the end. The Crimson Tide have something special in former Duncanville, Texas standout Keelon Russell, and I think that Russell may start to feature on Heisman Trophy frontrunners’ lists soon.

Key Factors Behind Today’s College Football Predictions

As with any college football predictions, injuries and home field advantage play a big part. Big injuries along the offensive line and defensive line often go unnoticed by the media, but they can play a massive role in a game. Quarterbacks can look rather pedestrian if they don’t have talented players keeping the pocket clean, while defensive linemen are now seen as the premier defenders due to their ability to get pressure.

Noah Fifita is a big reason why I’m betting on Arizona in this game. Fifita is a four-year starter that was fantastic in 2023 and 2025, and I expect him to have another great season as a senior. He is posting his best quarterback rating yet during his final year in Tucson, and that could make the Wildcats a surprise contender in the Big 12.

Recent Form and Home-Field Advantage

These programs never met on the football field before last season. Arizona went on the road to knock off Cincinnati 30-24 behind a solid performance from Fifita. Cincinnati was favored at home in this game, but the Wildcats went into Nippert Stadium and pulled off the upset.
