NFC East Odds 2026: Predictions, Standings & Team Analysis

The Philadelphia Eagles enter the 2026 NFL season trying to win a third straight NFC East title. Philadelphia finished 11-6 last year and was the only NFC East team above .500, but its season ended with a home wild-card loss to San Francisco.

The betting market still favors the Eagles, although Dallas is close enough to make this a real two-team race. Washington and New York are longer shots, but both have reasons to expect improvement after difficult 2025 seasons. I’ll look at the current NFC East odds, last year’s standings, key statistics, offseason changes and the factors that could determine the division. I will also identify the best division bet, a sleeper and the team carrying the most risk at its current price.

NFC East Division Overview

The NFC East includes two established contenders and two teams trying to move back toward playoff relevance. Philadelphia owns four of the last seven division titles, while Dallas enters 2026 with an offense capable of challenging for the top spot. Washington and New York finished at the bottom last season, but both teams have measurable reasons for improvement.

NFC East Teams

The four NFC East teams are the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Washington Commanders and New York Giants. Philadelphia is the defending champion. Dallas is the closest challenger in the current market, while Washington and New York carry longer odds.

Why the NFC East Race Matters

Philadelphia is trying to complete a rare three-peat, but the division is not priced as a runaway. Dallas has the shortest odds behind the Eagles and a win total of 9.5. Washington and New York both sit at 7.5 wins, which shows that the market expects more balance than last year’s standings suggest. The division also contains three quarterbacks with notable MVP prices: Dak Prescott at +1408, Jayden Daniels at +2411 and Jalen Hurts at +3116. Philadelphia also has the lowest odds to make the playoffs at -174, while Dallas is listed at -115.

NFC East Odds to Win the Division

Philadelphia remains the favorite, but Dallas is close enough to create a meaningful betting decision. Washington and New York are not viewed as equal contenders, although their longer prices may appeal to bettors who expect major improvement. The playoff and win-total markets reinforce the separation between the top two and the rest of the division.

Current Odds to Win NFC East

Team Division odds
Philadelphia Eagles +140
Dallas Cowboys +186
Washington Commanders +430
New York Giants +556

Philadelphia’s +140 price reflects its recent control of the division and 11-win season. Dallas is only slightly behind at +186, which shows that the market expects a much stronger challenge. Washington and New York need larger jumps, but neither is priced as an impossible outsider.

NFC East Odds Movement

The earlier odds show Philadelphia between +115 and +140, Dallas between +186 and +235, Washington between +430 and +500, and New York between +550 and +600. Philadelphia and Dallas have consistently occupied the top tier.

The current board gives Dallas a shorter price than some earlier odds, while Washington is also shorter than its +460 and +500 snapshots. New York has remained the longest-priced team. These changes suggest some support for Dallas and Washington, but the Eagles have remained the division favorite throughout the supplied material.

The supporting markets tell a similar story. Philadelphia is -174 to make the playoffs, Dallas is -115, Washington is +200 and New York is +250. The win totals are 10.5 for Philadelphia, 9.5 for Dallas and 7.5 for both Washington and New York.

NFC East Standings and Recent Results

Philadelphia finished clearly ahead of the rest of the NFC East in 2025, but the underlying numbers show a more complicated picture. Dallas had the division’s best scoring offense, while Washington and New York both finished with fewer wins than their point differentials suggested.

Final 2025 NFC East Standings

Team 2025 record
Philadelphia Eagles 11-6
Dallas Cowboys 7-9-1
Washington Commanders 5-12
New York Giants 4-13

Over the final eight games, Philadelphia and Dallas each went 4-4. Washington and New York both finished that stretch 2-6. Philadelphia was the only team to finish with a winning record.

What the NFC East Standings Tell Us

Philadelphia earned the title, but an 8-4 record in one-score games may be difficult to repeat. Dallas went 4-2-1 in close games and finished near its projected level. Washington went 1-5, while New York went 1-6, creating room for improvement if close results become more balanced.

Point-differential projections placed Philadelphia at 10 wins, Dallas at 7.7, Washington at 6.2 and New York at 7.1. Those figures do not predict the 2026 standings, but they show why the Giants and Commanders may be better than their final records indicated. New York’s 4-13 finish was especially poor compared with its scoring margin, while Washington also underperformed its projection.

NFC East Team-by-Team Breakdown

Each NFC East team enters 2026 with a clear path to improvement, but the quality of those paths differs. Philadelphia and Dallas have the strongest overall cases, while Washington and New York need larger gains.

Philadelphia Eagles Division Outlook

Philadelphia remains the team to beat after finishing 11-6 and winning a second straight NFC East title. The Eagles added Jonathan Greenard, Riq Woolen, Dontayvion Wicks, Makai Lemon and Eli Stowers, but losing A.J. Brown changes the offense. Jalen Hurts still leads a roster with Saquon Barkley, and Philadelphia’s defense allowed 325 points last season. The concern is regression after an 8-4 record in one-score games and a late-season slide. The Eagles have the division’s easiest schedule, but their +140 price leaves less room for error than the other contenders.

Dallas Cowboys Division Outlook

Dallas offers the strongest challenge to Philadelphia. The Cowboys scored 471 points and averaged 27.7 points per game, even while finishing 7-9-1. Dak Prescott threw for 4,552 yards and 30 touchdowns, with CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens giving him two major receiving weapons. The defense allowed 511 points and 30.1 per game, so improvement there is essential. Dallas responded by adding Rashan Gary, Caleb Downs, Jalen Thompson, P.J. Locke and Cobie Durant. With a 9.5-win total, a younger offensive line and +186 division odds, Dallas has a credible path to first place.

Washington Commanders Division Outlook

Washington fell from 12-5 in 2024 to 5-12 last season, but quarterback availability shaped that decline. Jayden Daniels started only seven games after suffering three separate injuries, and Washington went 2-5 without him. The Commanders replaced both coordinators and added Odafe Oweh, K’Lavon Chaisson and first-round linebacker Sonny Styles to a defense that allowed 451 points. Washington also owns positive regression indicators after going 1-5 in close games. The challenge is a tougher schedule than the other NFC East teams and heavy dependence on Daniels. At +430, Washington is interesting but carries clear health and defensive risk.

New York Giants Division Outlook

New York enters a new era under John Harbaugh after finishing 4-13. Jaxson Dart showed promise as a rookie, while Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo are expected back after season-ending injuries. The Giants also added Arvell Reese, Francis Mauigoa, Tremaine Edmunds, Ar’Darius Washington, Greg Newsome II and Isaiah Likely. Losing Dexter Lawrence weakens the defensive front, but the broader roster has improved. New York scored 391 points and had a projected total of 7.1 wins based on point differential. The Giants remain the longest shot at +556, but their offense gives them a realistic chance to outperform last year’s record.

NFC East Stats to Know

The 2025 statistics show why Philadelphia won the division, why Dallas remains dangerous and why the bottom two teams may improve. The records matter, but the scoring and close-game numbers provide a fuller picture.

Key Offensive Stats

Dallas led the NFC East with 471 points and averaged 27.7 points per game. Philadelphia scored 379, New York scored 391 and Washington scored 356. The Cowboys’ production supports their position as Philadelphia’s main challenger, especially with Prescott, Lamb and Pickens returning.

The Giants’ 391 points stand out because they finished only 4-13. Their offense produced more than Philadelphia and Washington, but the results did not follow. New York also improved its offensive line through the draft. Philadelphia must replace A.J. Brown’s production, while Washington needs a healthier season from Daniels.

Key Defensive Stats

Philadelphia allowed 325 points, the best figure in the division. New York allowed 439, Washington allowed 451 and Dallas allowed 511. Dallas clearly had the largest defensive problem, but it also made the most aggressive offseason changes.

Close-game results are another important statistic. Philadelphia went 8-4 in games decided by seven points or fewer. Dallas finished 4-2-1, Washington went 1-5 and New York went 1-6. Those extremes support caution with Philadelphia and offer some hope for the Commanders and Giants.

NFC East Predictions

The NFC East market presents a clear choice between Philadelphia’s recent control and Dallas’ stronger value. Washington and New York have improvement cases, but both still need to close a substantial gap.

Best Bet to Win NFC East

Dallas at +186 is the best bet. The Cowboys already had the division’s most productive offense, and Prescott owns the shortest MVP odds among NFC East quarterbacks. The defense was the clear reason Dallas finished below .500, and the additions of Gary, Downs, Thompson, Locke and Durant directly address that weakness.

Philadelphia deserves favorite status, but its price is shorter and its roster lost A.J. Brown. The Eagles also benefited from an 8-4 record in close games. Dallas does not need to become dominant defensively. A move from historically poor to respectable could be enough for its offense to carry the team past Philadelphia.

NFC East Sleeper Pick

New York at +556 is the sleeper. The Giants finished 4-13, but their point differential produced a 7.1-win projection. They also went 1-6 in close games, giving them a strong statistical case for improvement.

Dart, Nabers and Skattebo provide offensive upside, while the front office added help on both sides of the ball. New York remains behind Philadelphia and Dallas, but its price offers the best long-shot case.

NFC East Team to Avoid

Washington is the team to avoid at +430. The Commanders should improve, but their outlook depends heavily on Daniels staying healthy. They also face the toughest schedule in the division and allowed 451 points last season. Improvement is reasonable. Winning the division requires a much larger leap.

Factors That Could Decide the NFC East

The NFC East should be decided by quarterback stability and whether offseason changes translate into measurable improvement. Philadelphia and Dallas begin with the strongest rosters, but both carry questions that could reshape the race.

Quarterback Play

Prescott enters the season with +1408 MVP odds, the shortest price among NFC East quarterbacks. Daniels is next at +2411, followed by Hurts at +3116 and Dart at +5730. Dallas needs Prescott to maintain last year’s production. Philadelphia needs Hurts to guide an offense adjusting to Brown’s departure.

Washington’s season depends most heavily on its quarterback. Daniels started only seven games last year, and the Commanders struggled without him. New York needs Dart to turn promising rookie moments into consistent play while protecting himself better.

Strength of Schedule

Philadelphia owns the easiest NFC East schedule based on opponents’ 2025 winning percentage. The Eagles rank 10th easiest at .481. Dallas is 13th at .493, New York is 16th at .498 and Washington is 17th at .502.

The differences are not dramatic, but Philadelphia receives another small advantage. Dallas remains close enough that roster improvement could outweigh the schedule gap. Washington has the least favorable combination of price, quarterback dependence and schedule strength.
