NFL Predictions Today: Broncos at Cardinals Preview

The Arizona Cardinals pulled off the biggest upset in an NFL football game yet this season last week. Arizona was a two-touchdown underdog per the NFL odds against the Los Angeles Rams, but the Cardinals upset the preseason Super Bowl favorite 18-16 behind six Chad Ryland field goals. The win pulled the Cardinals out of the NFC West cellar, as both of their wins this season have come against the Los Angeles NFL teams.

Denver Broncos at Arizona Cardinals

Live odds: Moneyline · Spread · Total.

We have a potential Super Bowl preview in the NFL tonight. The unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs will face the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. A loss would drop Seattle to 3-4 on the season after last week’s loss to the Denver Broncos, and Denver is looking to beat Arizona on Sunday to move closer to Kansas City in the AFC West standings.

NFL Games Today and Tonight

Once again, three-quarters of the NFL teams will be in action on Sunday. Four teams will have their bye week including division leaders Buffalo and Jacksonville. Pittsburgh and New Orleans will play the first ever football game in France to start the day, and the nightcap will feature the Kansas City Chiefs heading to the Emerald City to face the Seattle Seahawks.

Who Plays Football Tonight?

The Kansas City Chiefs will look to remain the AFC’s only unbeaten team and move to 6-0 with a win over the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL tonight.

NFL Matchup Previews

Maybe the most underrated football game this week pits the Arizona Cardinals against the Denver Broncos. The NFL stats favor the Broncos in this matchup between NFL teams, but the Cardinals have already pulled off two significant upsets this season.

Offense vs. Defense Matchups

The Arizona Cardinals have not been great on defense this season. Arizona is ranked 31st in scoring defense (29.7 PPG), and the secondary is the worst in the league allowing 8.6 YPA. However, Bo Nix has not exactly been lighting up the stat sheet. Nix is averaging an NFL-worst 4.9 air yards per attempt this season, leading to plenty of consternation for Denver fans as the Broncos have all the other pieces in place to make a real Super Bowl run.

Key Matchup Advantages

Denver’s defense has not been as good as you might think given what we saw from the Broncos last season. The Broncos rank 10th in scoring defense (20.8 PPG) and 22nd in total defense (348.3 YPG). That could lead to some unexpected chances for an Arizona offense that has struggled to move the ball as long as Jacoby Brissett doesn’t turn the ball over. Brissett has thrown five interceptions in his last three games for the Cardinals.

NFL Players to Watch Today

Few NFL players are seeing more pressure around their performance than Bo Nix. Although the Broncos are 4-2 and were the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC Playoffs last season, Sean Payton has faced calls to bench Nix. NFL teams really can’t win a Super Bowl without a competent quarterback anymore, and the NFL stats don’t bode well for the Broncos with Nix under center. Denver’s offense ranks 26th in scoring offense with just 19.0 PPG, and the Broncos are next to last in total offense with 252.2 YPG.

Quarterbacks and Offensive Playmakers

Jacoby Brissett is not a world-beater under center. Brissett is a competent veteran that is playing for his sixth team in seven seasons, but his 2025 campaign was the best of his 11-year NFL career. Arizona has done a solid job of protecting him to this point, yet he doesn’t have a lot of talent around him. Tight end Trey McBridge has been Brissett’s top target, and Mack Wilson and Tyler Allgeier will likely split carries once more as rookie running back Jeremiyah Love has not practiced this week after missing last week’s game.

Denver’s offense has completely stalled out due to Nix’s inability to throw the ball down the field. No player has more than 228 receiving yards through six games, and Nix is averaging just 5.6 YPA. That has led to defenses bringing more players into the box, so top running back J.K. Dobbins is averaging a scant 3.3 YPG.

Defensive Players Who Could Impact the Game

Nik Bonitto has thrived in Denver over the last three seasons. The Broncos rewarded him with a four-year extension worth up to $120 million last year, and he recorded 27.5 sacks and 30 tackles for loss in 2024 and 2025. Bonitto has 3.5 sacks and 4.5 TFL through six games, but Denver will look for him to be more of a playmaker if Pat Surtain III and Talanoa Hufanga are out due to injury once more.

NFL Stats to Know Before Today’s Games

At the start of the season, many bettors would not have believed that the NFL odds for this game were so low. Arizona has not drafted well and has some of the least talented NFL players among all NFL teams. However, it looks like Mike LaFleur might be a solid head coach that can get the most out of his team, and every Bo Nix stat is worse than the last.

Offensive and Defensive NFL Stats

I know I might be beating a dead horse at this point, but when you look at the NFL stats for Bo Nix, it is clear that he is not a good quarterback. His weekly passing charts this season show that he is throwing to the flats and throwing a substantial percentage of his passes to targets behind the line of scrimmage. Nix does not throw over the middle of the field or throw the ball more than 10 yards downfield very often, and his 4.9 air yards per attempt is a full yard lower than any other quarterback in the league.

Recent Team and Player Trends

Three of Arizona’s last four games have gone over the total, while Denver has had five of its six games so far this season go under the total. Only one Broncos’ game has had more than 41 total points this season, and that was the game in which Denver scored 30 second half points after being shutout in the first half to beat the Los Angeles Rams.

NFL Lines and Betting Movement

There hasn’t been a lot of movement in the NFL odds for this game. Denver opened as a five-point favorite in this football game, and the total has remained the same.

Opening Lines vs. Current NFL Lines

We have seen significant movement in some NFL lines this week. Pittsburgh opened as a 1.5-point favorite, and that line has shifted two points. San Francisco was a five-point road favorite over Atlanta before that line came down significantly, while Baltimore opened as a three-point favorite against Cincinnati before continued concerns about Lamar Jackson’s status has led to the Bengals now being short favorites.

What Can Move NFL Odds Before Kickoff?

Injuries are the main impetus behind line moves prior to kickoff, but weather can also be a factor.

NFL Predictions for Today’s Games

I don’t know if I can call for the upset, but I do think that the Cardinals can at least stay within the current spread per the NFL odds. My favorite bet is the Under though, as I don’t see Arizona and Denver combining for more than 40 points on Sunday afternoon.

Predictions for Today’s Top NFL Games

In the first football game to be played in France, I like New Orleans to pull off the upset even though the line has moved against the Saints. I would also back the Detroit Lions as a field goal favorite per the NFL odds.

Potential Upsets to Watch

Arizona and Las Vegas were seen as two of the worst teams per the advanced NFL stats coming into the season, while Denver and Los Angeles were pegged as Super Bowl favorites. Both the Cardinals and Raiders have a real chance of continuing to turn the NFL world on its head from what we believed in the preseason.

NFL Betting Angles for Today

Underdogs have fared well with the NFL odds so far this season, and there are plenty of underdogs that have a good chance of pulling off moneyline upsets in Week 7.

Final NFL Games Today Outlook

Expect a low scoring game between Denver and Arizona with the Cardinals staying within the number per the NFL lines. In the NFL tonight, the Over is probably the best bet as both offenses have had additional time to prepare in this battle between NFL teams.
