The Golden State Valkyries completed the biggest comeback in franchise history to beat the Los Angeles Sparks and clinch the No. 2 seed in the playoffs, just ahead of the three-time champion Las Vegas Aces.

The Minnesota Lynx are the overall No. 1 seed and close to an odds-on favorite per the WNBA Championship odds. Meanwhile, the teams with the longest WNBA Playoffs odds are the Dallas Wings and the Washington Mystics.

We knew the teams that would make the WNBA Playoffs in late August. There was a clear split between the top half and the bottom half of the WNBA this season as the No. 8 seed New York Liberty finished with a 26-18 record, a whopping nine games ahead of the next-best Portland Fire who were 17-27.

Teams to Watch in the 2026 WNBA Playoffs

The lowest WNBA odds to win championship lie with the Minnesota Lynx. Minnesota was dominant with Maya Moore, Sylvia Fowles, and Seimone Augustus in the 2010s, winning four WNBA titles in seven years, but the Lynx fell off after Moore’s unexpected retirement. You can never count out the Las Vegas Aces as long as A’ja Wilson is on the court. Wilson has been the best player in the WNBA for a half-decade, and she has been the primary reason why the Aces have won three titles in the last four years. Depth is a bit of a concern for the Aces, as there isn’t much outside of A’ja Wilson, Jackie Young, and Chelsea Gray.

Dark Horse Teams

The New York Liberty may be the No. 8 seed, but the Liberty are going to be tough to beat. That’s why they are just 15-1 to win the WNBA Championship. Sabrina Ionescu is healthy again after missing a third of the season due to injury, Breanna Stewart continues to play at a high level, and Jonquel Jones is a force in the low post. Don’t be surprised if they knock off top seed Minnesota in the first round.

Players Who Could Make the Difference

Caitlin Clark has the potential to take over a game with her shooting, and she finally has some help in Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston. That led to the Indiana Fever finishing with 100 points or more 16 times this season (a WNBA record by a mile), but the Fever will need to play better defense if they are going to make a deep playoff run.
