June 24 FIFA World Cup Predictions: Odds & Betting Tips

Mexico became the first team to officially make it out of the World Cup 2026 groups stage last Thursday. El Tri rode another dominant defensive performance to a 1-0 victory over South Korea, ensuring that Mexico will finish atop Group A. Many World Cup predictions had Mexico finishing atop their group, and that realization has El Tri in an advantageous position. Mexico is guaranteed to play its Round of 32 opponent in Estadio Azteca, and if they win that game, they will once again play in their capital city before moving to the United States for the quarterfinals.

There will be a whopping six games on Wednesday, June 24, as the final results in Group A, Group B, and Group C are finalized. Counterintuitively, Group B will play first and then Group C followed by Group A.

Betcris Arizona is offering Same Game Parlays for soccer, giving bettors the option of combining multiple selections from one game into a single wager. The choices could include match result, totals, player props, and more. That gives bettors several ways to approach Wednesday’s World Cup 2026 group matches.

World Cup 2026 Group Matches Today

Guillermo Ochoa announced his retirement from football following the World Cup, and he might make his final start in goal against Czechia on Wednesday. Mexico is guaranteed to finish atop Group A, so a lot of reserves will see action, and an Ochoa start would be a popular choice with fans that have cheered on the goalkeeper over six World Cups.

Elsewhere, the match between Switzerland and Canada will determine the winner of Group B. Canada has a massive goal advantage after a 6-0 thrashing of Qatar last Thursday, so any result would lead to the Canadians finishing atop their group as well. As with Mexico, if Canada does finish first in Group B, they will play their Round of 32 and potential Round of 16 matches on home soil.

Today’s World Cup Groups Odds

The biggest favorites of the day by the World Cup groups odds are Morocco. The 2022 World Cup semifinalists are Africa’s best hope of finally bringing a World Cup to the continent, and they are expected to hammer a Haiti team that was better than expected in their first match.

Four teams are odds-on favorites on the three-way line in their World Cup 2026 group matches. Morocco is the biggest favorite, but the sportsbooks also expect Brazil, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and South Korea to best their opponents.

Switzerland vs. Canada Prediction and Betting Preview

Although Canada is playing at home, they are not favored per the World Cup betting odds against Switzerland on Wednesday. The Swiss are slight favorites due to their World Cup experience and their tenacious defense.

Switzerland has more depth and won’t be as porous in the back as Qatar was against Canada. Granit Xhaka’s ability to break up attacks will be a huge boon for the Swiss as they best Canada in a close match.

Bosnia and Herzegovina vs. Qatar Prediction and Betting Preview

This match wouldn’t mean much in most years with both teams having just one point, but if one of these teams gets a victory, they will be in good position to be one of the eight third-place teams to reach the knockout rounds.

There is no doubt that Bosnia and Herzegovina is the more talented team, but Qatar should not be this much of an underdog. Although Qatar fell apart against Canada and won’t have two players available due to red card suspensions, they have the talent to pull off a big upset.

Morocco vs. Haiti Prediction and Betting Preview

It’s hard to imagine Morocco losing to Haiti. We saw Morocco get the better of Brazil for long stretches in their first match, and this team could be poised to make another deep run at the World Cup.

The Atlas Lions have two excellent playmakers in captain Achraf Hakimi and forward Brahim Diaz. They should run Haiti’s back line ragged and ensure that Morocco gets the three points needed to advance to the knockout rounds.

Scotland vs. Brazil Prediction and Betting Preview

Once again, Brazil has been a bit disappointing at the World Cup. Although there is little doubt that the Selecao will make it to the knockout stages, this team continues to underperform relative to its massive talent.

Scotland had some massive issues in the back against Haiti, and this is a game for Brazil to get right before the knockout rounds. I wouldn’t be surprised if Vinicius Junior notched a brace or even a hat trick in a Brazil rout.

Czechia vs. Mexico Prediction and Betting Preview

It will be interesting to see how Mexico will play in a relatively meaningless match on Wednesday night. El Tri will likely rest most of their starters, giving Czechia a much better chance of earning a result.

Czechia scored first against both South Korea and South Africa, yet they only have one point in two matches. They are fully capable of getting a win over a short-handed Mexico squad that will just be looking to avoid any major injuries or suspensions here.

South Africa vs. South Korea Prediction and Betting Preview

We have not seen much offense out of Bafana Bafana at this World Cup. South Africa’s lone goal came from a penalty kick late in their match against Czechia, and their chances were few and far between against Mexico in the World Cup opener.

South Korea has been dangerous in both their matches. The Taegeuk Warriors might be poised for a big breakthrough with two or three goals in the evening.

Best World Cup Betting Angles for Today

We have yet to see a big shock per the World Cup groups odds aside from Spain having to settle for a 0-0 draw against Cape Verde. Most of this tournament has gone as expected, but there could be a bevy of goals today. Morocco and Brazil both can pour in the goals against their Group C opponents, and South Korea could go over the total by themselves. Take a long look at the total in every match today and consider the Over.

How Group Standings Affect Today’s Predictions

Circling back to the start of the article, Mexico have already finished atop Group A during the World Cup 2026 Group Stage. That means El Tri have little to play for and gives Czechia a better-than-expected chance of pulling off the upset. Either Canada or Switzerland will finish atop Group B based on their result, so expect that match to be extremely competitive. The Group B runner-up will have to face the Group A runner-up, while the Group B winner will get to play one of the third-place teams.

Daily World Cup Prediction Summary

The best bet of the day in my eyes is Czechia to beat Mexico, while the best value lies in Qatar to knock off Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are World Cup predictions based on?

+

Several things go into World Cup predictions. Weather, injuries, and travel time can all play big factors, but sometimes there are just stylistic differences that favor one side over another team. Certain teams have shown little resolve too, and that could lead to upsets if something doesn’t go their way early.

How often are World Cup group stage predictions updated?

+

There will be daily World Cup group stage predictions available. We will cover every World Cup match from the Group Stage to the World Cup Final at this tournament. This will be the busiest World Cup ever with 104 matches in 16 cities over the course of 39 days.

Why do World Cup group odds change before kickoff?

+

There are a number of reasons why World Cup group odds can change prior to the opening whistle. Injury concerns can have a big factor when it comes to late line movement, and manager’s tactical set-ups can lead to punters shifting the odds one way or the other.

Are World Cup group matches harder to predict than knockout games?

+

It’s harder to predict World Cup group matches than knockout games. There are simply more unknowns in the Group Stage, and we haven’t seen the teams play meaningful soccer in quite some time. Teams have recent matches under their belt in the knockout stages, and there is more chemistry among the squads.
