NFL Week 3 Predictions, Odds & Best Bets

Week 3 brings a full NFL schedule from Thursday night through Monday, with several early-season teams already facing meaningful pressure. These NFL predictions this week start with Green Bay hosting Atlanta at 8:15 p.m. ET Thursday before a 14-game Sunday slate and Philadelphia visiting Chicago at 8:15 p.m. ET Monday. Baltimore and Dallas also meet in Rio de Janeiro at 4:25 p.m. ET, giving the week an international centerpiece.

The early NFL odds have created several attractive NFL picks. Buffalo is 2-0 and averaging 38.5 points per game, while Kansas City is 2-0 with a league-best 457.5 yards per game. Seattle and San Francisco have also opened 2-0, and both defenses have allowed 10 points per game or fewer. At the other end, Atlanta, Miami, Houston, Indianapolis, Tennessee, Washington, Tampa Bay and the Chargers are all still looking for their first win.

The NFL betting odds also show a wide range of expectations. Kansas City is an 11.5-point favorite at Miami, San Francisco is laying nine against Arizona, and several other games sit within a field goal. That creates a Week 3 card with opportunities in spreads, moneylines, totals and a few player-prop odds available early in the week.

NFL Week Preview

Week 3 of the NFL schedule has several games that can reshape the early standings. The NFL games this week also give us our first meaningful look at which 2-0 starts and 0-2 records deserve attention.

Biggest Storylines

Buffalo, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Minnesota, Seattle and San Francisco all enter 2-0. The Bills are scoring 38.5 points per game, while the 49ers have allowed only 10 per game and Seattle just 8.5. Miami and the Chargers, meanwhile, are both 0-2 and face undefeated opponents. Atlanta also has to rebound quickly from a 34-3 loss to Carolina before Thursday night at Green Bay.

Key Divisional Matchups

Cincinnati at Pittsburgh is the lone divisional game on this Week 3 card. The Bengals are 2-0 and Pittsburgh is 1-1, but the Steelers return home after being held to three points at New England. Cincinnati has allowed only 16.5 points per game, making this an early AFC North test.

Games With Playoff Implications

The NFL week predictions become especially interesting in Baltimore-Dallas and Philadelphia-Chicago. Baltimore and Dallas are both 1-1 before meeting in Rio, while Philadelphia can move to 3-0 on Monday. Minnesota also has a chance to reach 3-0 against an 0-2 Tampa Bay team.

Expert Picks for Every NFL Game

The NFL expert picks below use the current Betcris Arizona spreads. These NFL game predictions separate the ATS selections from straight-up winners so a close underdog call does not get confused with an outright upset. Several selections also take advantage of early injury information and movement from the opening line, rather than simply following the most popular side.

Against the Spread Picks

Take Atlanta +6.5, Buffalo -7, Carolina -2.5, New York Jets +6.5, Indianapolis +3, Kansas City -11.5, New York Giants -3, Cincinnati -3.5, Seattle -7, New England +3, San Francisco -9, Minnesota -1.5, Baltimore -3, Las Vegas +3, Denver +2.5 and Philadelphia -3. Those are the NFL picks today against the current Betcris Arizona numbers. The card includes four underdogs expected to win outright.

Straight-Up Winners

The projected winners are Green Bay, Buffalo, Carolina, Detroit, Indianapolis, Kansas City, New York Giants, Cincinnati, Seattle, New England, San Francisco, Minnesota, Baltimore, Las Vegas, Denver and Philadelphia. The four outright underdog calls are Indianapolis, New England, Las Vegas and Denver.

Score Predictions

Green Bay 24, Atlanta 20. Buffalo 31, Chargers 20. Carolina 27, Cleveland 20. Detroit 26, Jets 23. Indianapolis 24, Houston 21. Kansas City 34, Miami 17. Giants 20, Tennessee 16. Cincinnati 24, Pittsburgh 16. Seattle 27, Washington 13. New England 20, Jacksonville 17. San Francisco 30, Arizona 14. Minnesota 23, Tampa Bay 17. Baltimore 28, Dallas 24. Las Vegas 27, New Orleans 24. Denver 23, Rams 21. Philadelphia 24, Chicago 16.

NFL Line Movement Analysis

Early NFL line movement has created several spots worth watching before kickoff. The opening numbers come from the early odds sites, while the current NFL betting lines below use Betcris Arizona.

Biggest Line Moves

Green Bay opened -7.5 against Atlanta and is now -6.5 at Betcris Arizona. Philadelphia opened -4.5 at Chicago and has dropped to -3. Houston moved from -2.5 to -3 at Indianapolis, while San Francisco moved from -8.5 to -9 against Arizona. Totals have also shifted. Atlanta-Green Bay rose from 44 to 45, and Carolina-Cleveland moved from 41 to 42.5.

Reverse Line Movement

Atlanta-Green Bay is the clearest reverse-line candidate. About 70% of the Covers consensus is backing Green Bay, yet the NFL betting line has moved a full point toward Atlanta. Buffalo is another one to watch. The Bills have roughly 74% of consensus support, but an opener of Buffalo -7.5 is now -7 at Betcris Arizona. Neither move guarantees the underdog is correct, but both deserve attention.

Closing Line Value

The most useful numbers may disappear quickly. Atlanta +6.5 is still preferable to +6 if the market continues moving toward the Falcons, while Philadelphia -3 is notably better than the -4.5 opener. Houston -3 is less attractive than -2.5 because the key field-goal number has already been crossed.

Matchups That Could Decide the Week

Several NFL matchups stand out because the strength of one unit runs directly into a potential weakness on the other side. That makes the deeper NFL analysis more useful than simply comparing records.

Quarterback Battles

Buffalo-Los Angeles starts with a major contrast. Josh Allen has 582 passing yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions through two games. Justin Herbert has 401 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. Baltimore-Dallas is closer. Lamar Jackson has 559 yards with two touchdown passes, while Dak Prescott has 454 yards and six touchdowns. Those quarterback matchups could determine whether two of the week's larger totals turn into shootouts.

Offensive Line vs Pass Rush

Protection concerns matter in several NFL games. Green Bay is without Micah Parsons and Javon Hargrave, while Atlanta tackle Jawaan Taylor is questionable. The Chargers list tackle Trey Pipkins III out and guard Kayode Awosika questionable, although Buffalo defensive tackle Ed Oliver is also out. Those absences could change how aggressively either defense attacks.

Secondary Matchups

Dallas has significant secondary concerns before facing Baltimore, with Cobie Durant, P.J. Locke and Malik Hooker listed out. Detroit also lost cornerback Avonte Maddox for the season and remains without safeties Kerby Joseph and Brian Branch. That is especially relevant against a Jets passing game facing a Detroit defense that has allowed 310.5 passing yards per game. On the other side, New York has allowed only 131.5 passing yards per game.

Best NFL Betting Opportunities

The NFL best bets this week come from combining price, matchup and early-season form rather than chasing every favorite. The best bets NFL bettors can make should fit the current number, not yesterday's line.

Best ATS Picks

Seattle -7 (-103) at Washington is the top ATS choice. The Seahawks are 2-0, have allowed only 17 points, and just beat Arizona 31-7. Washington is 0-2 and has allowed 61 points. Jayden Daniels is also doubtful with an elbow injury. New England +3 (-108) at Jacksonville is another attractive NFL betting pick after the Patriots held Pittsburgh to three points. The Jets +6.5 (-108) at Detroit also deserves consideration because New York has allowed a league-low 197 yards per game.

Moneyline Value

Las Vegas +147 offers the most interesting plus-money value. The Raiders are 2-0 with a +26 point differential and have allowed only 13.5 points per game. New Orleans is favored by three despite sitting 1-1. New England +142 is also playable for bettors who prefer the outright upset rather than taking three points.

Totals Worth Playing

San Francisco-Arizona under 47.5 (-108) is the strongest total. The 49ers have allowed only 10 points per game, while Arizona is scoring 16.5. Tennessee-New York Giants under 40.5 (-108) also fits two offenses averaging 17 points per game or fewer. Those NFL betting tips favor lower-scoring games where one or both offenses have struggled to sustain production.

Player Props to Watch

The available NFL player props are still limited early in the week, so the strongest approach is to focus on the Atlanta-Green Bay market rather than inventing action where no reliable line is available yet.

Passing Props

Jordan Love over 226.5 passing yards (-114) is the preferred quarterback play. Love is averaging 266 passing yards through two games, and Atlanta has allowed 239 passing yards per game. Michael Penix Jr. under 205.5 (-114) is the opposite angle. Atlanta has produced only 123.5 net passing yards per game as a team, creating a difficult case for expecting a sudden jump above this NFL props number.

Rushing & Receiving Props

Christian Watson over 66.5 receiving yards (-114) is the strongest yardage prop. Watson has 188 receiving yards through two games, an average of 94 per game. Bijan Robinson over 40.5 receiving yards (-114) is another option. Robinson has 99 receiving yards through two games.

Anytime Touchdown Picks

Christian Watson +135 is the best of the available NFL prop bets. Watson already has three receiving touchdowns in two games, and the plus-money price is more attractive than Bijan Robinson at -160. Tucker Kraft at +170 and Matthew Golden at +175 are alternatives, but Watson has the strongest early touchdown production of the group.

Injury Report and Betting Impact

The NFL injuries list is especially important this week because several starters remain uncertain. The NFL injury report should be checked again close to kickoff, but the current information already affects multiple NFL betting news angles.

Quarterback Injuries

Chicago's Caleb Williams is doubtful with a hamstring injury, and his coach does not anticipate him practicing this week. Washington's Jayden Daniels is also doubtful after undergoing imaging on his elbow. Atlanta lists Tua Tagovailoa out for Thursday.

Skill Position Updates

Baltimore's Zay Flowers is trending toward playing despite some reports listing him out, with his coach saying he has a good shot to face Dallas. Brock Bowers is also trending toward playing for Las Vegas. Puka Nacua missed the Rams' Week 2 game and is questionable for Week 3. Houston will be without Nico Collins, while Green Bay has Jayden Reed questionable.

Defensive Injuries That Matter

Dallas enters the Baltimore game without several defensive backs, including Cobie Durant, P.J. Locke and Malik Hooker. Green Bay remains without Micah Parsons and Javon Hargrave. Buffalo is missing Ed Oliver, while the Chargers list Derwin James Jr. questionable. Those defensive absences could influence both sides and totals as the week progresses.

Situational Angles This Week

Scheduling and situational factors can matter as much as raw stats, particularly this early in the season. The best NFL betting strategy is to identify scheduling edges without overstating them after only two games.

Short Week Teams

Atlanta and Green Bay both played Sunday and return Thursday, giving each only a few days to prepare. The difference is momentum. Atlanta is coming off a 34-3 loss to Carolina, while Green Bay needed overtime to beat the Jets 20-17. The Rams also have a compressed turnaround after beating the Giants 28-6 on Monday before traveling to Denver for Sunday night.

Rest Advantage

Buffalo and Detroit have the clearest rest advantage in the NFL betting trends. Both played Thursday in Week 2 and will have extra time before their Sunday games. Buffalo hosts the Chargers, while Detroit hosts the Jets. Denver also gets a modest edge after playing Sunday while the Rams played Monday.

Travel and Scheduling Spots

Baltimore and Dallas face the most unusual travel situation because their Sunday matchup is in Rio de Janeiro. Both played at home in Week 2 before making the international trip, so neither owns an obvious rest advantage. Seattle also travels across the country to Washington, but its dominant defensive start makes that NFL betting analysis more about price than travel alone.

Survivor and Confidence Pool Picks

The best NFL survivor picks do not have to be the biggest favorites every week, but Week 3 offers several teams with clear straight-up advantages. The goal is survival first and style points second.

Safest Picks

Kansas City is the strongest survivor option against Miami. The Chiefs are 2-0, average 32 points and face a Dolphins team that is 0-2 with a -36 point differential. San Francisco is another strong choice at home against Arizona. The 49ers are 2-0 with a +42 differential and have allowed just 20 points all season. Seattle also belongs near the top against 0-2 Washington.

Upset Avoidance

Green Bay is a team to avoid using in survivor pools despite being favored by 6.5. The line has moved down from a 7.5-point opener even with heavy public support on the Packers. New Orleans is another risky favorite because unbeaten Las Vegas is getting three points and has allowed only 27 points.

High-Confidence Plays

For NFL confidence pool picks, Kansas City, San Francisco and Seattle deserve the highest placement. Cincinnati also carries appeal after starting 2-0 and facing a Pittsburgh offense averaging only 11.5 points. Buffalo remains a solid straight-up choice, but its matchup with the Chargers is less attractive for NFL survivor pool purposes than the larger favorites.
