Nuggets at Suns: NBA Predictions & Best Bets

The Phoenix Suns will look to move to 2-2 against the Denver Nuggets on Friday night. Denver is a short road favorite per the early NBA betting line for this game, but Phoenix will have the home advantage and a definitive rest advantage. This will be one of ten total games on the NBA schedule, and this is the first set of games that will determine the teams who will be playing for the Emirates NBA Cup.

This will be the first set of NBA predictions where the NBA Cup comes into play so keep reading to see the best NBA bets today.

NBA - REGULAR SEASON WINS

Phoenix Suns

Live odds: Total.

NBA Schedule Today

We have already seen some surprises in the NBA standings. Two of the Eastern Conference favorites are both currently winless and will be on the NBA schedule this Friday, October 30. The defending champion New York Knicks are 0-3 SU and 0-3 ATS per the NBA betting lines, while the Miami Heat are 0-4 SU and 0-4 ATS despite making some big moves in the offseason. Both the Knicks and Heat were among the preseason title contenders in most NBA predictions, but neither team is pushing the panic button just yet.

Top NBA Matchups to Watch Today

The two rivalry games that will be showcased on Amazon Prime Video are the top matchups in the league on Friday. The Philadelphia 76ers will welcome the struggling New York Knicks to the City of Brotherly Love early in the evening, while the Golden State Warriors will host the Los Angeles Lakers in one of the two late games.

Additionally, the Phoenix Suns will host Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in the other late game.

NBA Standings and Today’s Playoff Picture

Prior to Tuesday’s games, the Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Memphis Grizzlies were atop the NBA standings in the Western Conference. Houston and Oklahoma City were two of the preseason favorites per the NBA predictions, but Memphis is a surprise to start the season 4-0. It’s not like they have been granted an easy run by the NBA schedule either as three of those wins came on the road.

Eastern Conference Standings

As of now, the Detroit Pistons sit across the Eastern Conference standings as the conference’s only undefeated team. Detroit is 3-0 with an average win total of almost 13 points. Meanwhile, Miami, New York, and the Brooklyn Nets have yet to break into the win column.

Western Conference Standings

There are currently five unbeaten teams in the Western Conference. Houston, Oklahoma City, and Memphis are at the top of the standings at 4-0, while the Los Angeles Lakers are 3-0, and the Portland Trail Blazers are 2-0. Conversely, New Orleans and Sacramento are winless, and the Phoenix Suns are 1-2 thanks to a victory over Golden State last Saturday.

NBA Predictions for Today’s Games

Although the NBA betting odds favor the Denver Nuggets, I believe the Phoenix Suns will be able to pull out the win. Phoenix won its previous home game in this situation, and the Suns will greatly benefit from three full days of rest compared to just one day of rest for the Nuggets due to the intricacies of the NBA schedule. That makes the Suns one of my best NBA bets today, but I will have other NBA predictions later in this article.

Predictions for Today’s Top Matchups

I believe the Philadelphia 76ers will keep their hot streak alive against the New York Knicks. Philadelphia has played very well despite having a lot of new pieces as Tyrese Maxey has taken his game to another level. Don’t be surprised if the Golden State Warriors stay within the number at home against the Los Angeles Lakers in the nightcap even though the Lakers beat the Warriors by 22 points last week.

Potential Upsets to Watch

Golden State is a potential upset pick, but my favorite upset pick is Phoenix. The Suns will have plenty of time off before this game, while the Nuggets will only have one day off after a road game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night. It is early in the season, but there is not a lot of depth on this Denver roster, so a rest disadvantage can hit the Nuggets particularly hard.

Best NBA Bets Today

The best NBA bets today are Philadelphia, Golden State, and Phoenix. One of my favorite NBA betting tips is to back teams with a rest advantage, and the 76ers will have an edge over the Knicks. New York will play its third game in four days on Friday night, and that is going to be particularly tough on a starting lineup that logged big minutes during last season’s title run. Along those lines, I also like Phoenix in my NBA predictions as the Suns will have two extra days of rest and have a young lineup that can wear down Denver’s veterans.

Best Spread and Moneyline Bets

Currently, the only NBA betting lines available are for the tilt between Denver and Phoenix as every other team is in action between now and then save the Suns. If you are a fan of trends though, road teams are currently a blistering 33-19 ATS.

NBA Totals and Over/Under Bets

Unders have been hitting at a higher rate than overs early in the NBA season. Currently, the Under is 28-24 through 52 games, and two of those losses were due to overtime.

NBA Picks and Parlays Today

It can be profitable to bet NBA picks and parlays if you know what you are doing as a bettor. There are tons of opportunities for NBA betting throughout the season as we will have games every day for the next several months, so stay tuned for more NBA predictions.

NBA Picks for Today

The top NBA bets today are Philadelphia, Golden State, and Phoenix. The 76ers and Suns both have significant rest advantages and will be playing at home, while Golden State will likely fare much better the second time around against the Los Angeles Lakers.

NBA Parlay Ideas

Fading teams playing the second game in back-to-back nights on the road is usually a sound bet when it comes to making an NBA parlay. Some teams will simply rest their stars in this scenario, so it’s important to keep a sharp eye on roster news and injury updates.

NBA Betting Tips for Today’s Games

New bettors tend to rely too much on the NBA standings when placing bets. Instead of the standings, bettors should look at the schedule as one of the best NBA betting tips is to back teams with a significant rest advantage. Additionally, it is very profitable to identify NBA teams that might start tanking early in the season. This will play a significant role in NBA predictions and NBA betting opportunities as early as December.

Injuries, Rest and Back-to-Back Games

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been rocked by injuries early in the season. Superstar Jalen Williams fractured his fibula and will miss the next several months, if not the season, while Cason Wallace will miss at least the next couple months due to a torn labrum in his shoulder. To make matters worse, 2025 1st round pick Thomas Sorber is still recovering from a knee injury and top center Chet Holmgren has a nagging knee injury of his own.

Home Court, Recent Form and Matchup Trends

It has been very interesting to see some of the home/road splits through the first week of the season. Road favorites are 14-3 SU and home favorites are 23-12 SU, while road underdogs are 12-23 SU and home underdogs are 3-14 SU.

What Channel Is the NBA Game on Tonight?

There are ten games on the NBA schedule tonight. If you are wondering, what channel is the NBA game on tonight, then it can be conducive to buy the NBA League Pass package so that you don’t miss a game. That qualitative data can help you be more accurate in your NBA predictions.

NBA TV Schedule Tonight

Amazon Prime Video will kick off the first games of the Emirates NBA Cup with a doubleheader. The New York Knicks will head south to face the Philadelphia 76ers at 7:30 p.m. ET, while the Los Angeles Lakers will travel north to take on the Golden State Warriors at 10 p.m. ET.

How to Watch and Stream NBA Games

Amazon Prime Video will broadcast two games tonight, while the other eight games will be available on either NBA League Pass or local television networks.

Player Matchups and Props to Watch

One of the most important things you can do to inform your NBA betting this early in the season is to filter out the noise as much as possible. There will be plenty of overreactions to early season performances, and a deep dive can help you make the best NBA predictions.

Star Player Matchups

Devin Booker is the leading scorer for the Suns with 22.7 PPG. Booker is one of the few Phoenix players that is knocking down their free throws at a consistent rate, and he has been an efficient scorer despite making just 22.2% of his threes early in the season. That’s because Booker is sinking 63.9% of his two-point attempts, so I like his chances to score at least 25 points against Denver’s defense.

Player Prop Betting Angles

Nikola Jokic is likely going to have a big game on Friday night. Jokic is a triple-double machine, and I believe he will record another triple-double against a Phoenix team that doesn’t have a lot of talent in the frontcourt. Khaman Maluach is still developing as a 20-year-old center, and he was largely outplayed by Isaiah Hartenstein in Monday’s loss to Oklahoma City.

NBA 2K26 and Today’s NBA Matchups

Some younger bettors are using NBA 2k26 as a way to model upcoming games in the NBA schedule. This won’t have an effect on the NBA standings, but it will be interesting to see the predictive nature of this trend.
